OUR HISTORY
Aberdeen Gymnastics is an independent registered Scottish Charity whose purposes are to advance public participation in sport, through the sport of Gymnastics, in the Aberdeen and surrounding area.
We aim to benefit the local community by providing high quality sport to members via access to our fully equipped specialist gymnastics centres located across both sides of the city and to the expertise contained within our coaching team.
We aim to develop your child’s interest in sport, using gymnastics to develop character confidence, coordination, discipline, independence, self-esteem, an interest in health and well-being, strength, teamwork and social skills. Optimising their personal development and providing opportunities to become successful individuals.
We support members in gaining gymnastics qualifications and provide opportunities to volunteer, to become a coach or a qualified as a gymnastics judge and therefore contribute to the sport, developing future generations of gymnasts.
We are proud to say that prior to becoming a charity, our organisation’s origins date back over 50 years, and that the majority of our coaches are former gymnasts who have remained with us to maintain their interest in gymnastics or to pursue a career as a coach. We are very proud of our enthusiastic and highly motivated coaching team and administration staff.
